Playing Guitar

I’ve been a guitar player for years. I even used to teach. Earlier this spring after a 2 years sabbatical, I broke out my classical, and even started taking lessons again, but then some things came up and I got distracted.

I have three guitars: an Emilio Brugett Classical, a 1982 Alvarez Artist, and a Fender Squire Stratocaster. I have a ton of accessories too. All of this stuff for the last 5 years has been doing nothing more than collecting dust. My friend James at the church has been leading the song services, and has asked me if I could help out. Apparently Pastor Gil told him about my past experience with our old church.

For the last 3 months I’ve been pretty much resigned to just not playing anymore. Truthfully, if you don’t have an outlet to use a gift; the gift will wane, and eventually die. Now it seems that I have a reason to play again. :-)

I pick the music tonight.
